National award
The 67 National Film Awards were announced on Monday evening in New Delhi, with the honors for the films of the year 2019. The event is organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals, which is under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Director Priyadarshan Marakkar’s epic Malayalam War: Lion of the Arabian Sea, spearheaded by Mohanlal, won the Best Feature Film award. The film has yet to be released in theaters, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The best performance awards went to Manoj Bajapayee for Bhonsle, Dhanush for the Tamil film Asuran and Kangana Ranaut for two of his films: Panga and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Vijay Sethupathi (Super Deluxe) and Pallavi Joshi (The Tashkent Files) won the supporting actor awards, while director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was honored by Bahattar Hoorain.

The ceremony was supposed to take place in May last year, but was delayed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
