What is CLIT?

CLIT

“CLIT is a structural process to improve the service life and utilization of machine parts.” CLIT is a short word that represents the activities Clean, Lubricate, Inspect and Tighten. Operators carry out minor or basic maintenance activities on their own machines or equipment. The CLIT represents each term and can be explained as follows:

Cleaning

As simple cleaning is not just removing dust to make the machine and parts shine or around cleaning, if at all! That means is not to clean the shape of the clip. Cleaning should cover all methods to clean the machine according to the guide or manual for the machine and its parts, remember that the machine never expires, your part can be cleaner with a schedule, proper planning and a checklist for do this job well.

Lubrication

Moving or Rotating parts, bearings, shafts, etc., and parts require lubricant to prevent depreciation of the body part and reduce potential friction. Based on previous experience or the part manual, we can develop the lubrication program.

Inspection

The mirror part of this concept is a very important inspection operation to identify the missing area, parts by maintenance people. Casual observation can close a large gap over a long period of time losing machine performance over time to skip inspection value.

Tightening

Checking of bolts, accessories, wires, plugs, dies, hooks, locks, connections that can cause major accidents with unwanted breakdowns of the machine.

Cleaning Lubrication Inspection Tightening (CLIT)

The process is part of the Autonomous Maintenance behaviors as a regular task for maintenance. Cleaning, lubrication, inspection and adjustment of Process that includes Procedures, methods, development and continuous improvements in a structured manner for maintenance. Its preventive performance can be combined with regular or preventive maintenance.
Autonomous Maintenance is an important pillar in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Autonomous maintenance, or operator preventative maintenance, focuses on developing the skills of operators to routinely maintain equipment and identify any problems or potential problems. With this in mind, the goal of achieving autonomous maintenance is ever-increasing to reduce the risk associated with downtime or broken machinery, while improving productivity and extending equipment life.

Benefits of implementing CLIT

  • Improve teamwork between departments.
  • Abnormalities/malfunctions are detected earlier and are rectified immediately.
  • It can prevent a major breakdown in earlier stages.
  • The machines/equipment are always in optimal conditions.
  • A smaller team is required for maintenance.
  • Higher availability of machines/equipment, therefore higher OEE, etc.
  • Reduction of minor breakdowns by 90%
  • Anomaly reduction by 10%
  • Improvement in equipment availability

FAQ

What is mean by CLRI in autonomous maintenance?
Cleaning and Lubrication standards Prepared Cleaning, Lubricating, Re-tightening, Inspection (CLRI) check sheet.

What is CLIT in safety?
If the machine efficiently perform and target achieved then we implement to all machine in the entire plant if target not achieve then Implementation continued by CLIT (cleaning , lubrication, inspection & tightening ).
