John Earl Madden is a former United States football trainer and sportscaster. He was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders when they won the Super Bowl, and after leaving instruction, he became a notable cinematographer for NFL Communications. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 for his instructional achievements.

John Madden was born on 10 April 1936. Baron Madden and Mary Madden raised John in Austin, Minnesota. When John was a child, his father, an auto specialist, moved the Madden family to Daly Community, Calif., a town south of San Francisco.
