Robert Lewandowski is a Polish striker who currently plays for FC Barcelona. He is one of the most prolific goalscorers in the world, having scored over 500 goals for club and country.
Lewandowski is considered a national treasure in his native Poland and is also regarded as one of the best players in Bundesliga history, having scored 344 goals in 375 games for Bayern.

Personal life
Lewandowski was born in Warsaw and grew up in Leszno, Warsaw West County. He took his first steps in football as an unregistered player at the local club, Partyzant Leszno. In 1997, he joined MKS Warsaw Warsaw, where as a teenager he played for seven years. The following year he signed for Delta Warsaw of the 4th division, where he finally got to play in the first team, scoring four goals at the end of the season.
In 2006–07, Lewandowski was the top scorer in the Polish third division with 15 goals, helping Znicz Pruszków win promotion. The following season, he was the top scorer in the second highest division in Poland with 21 goals.
Lewandowski was born in Warsaw and his parents named him Robert because they wanted to make it easier for him to move abroad to play football in the future.
His father, Krzysztof, came from a sporting background, having been a Polish judo champion and a soccer player in the Polish second division. He passed away in 2005 when his son was just joining the Legia Warsaw reserve team.
Lewandowski’s mother, Iwona, also came from a sporting background, having played high-level volleyball in Warsaw. His sister Milena represented the Polish Under-21 volleyball team.
He married his wife, Anna, in 2013 in the small Polish town of Serock. He too has sporting pedigree, having won a bronze medal at the 2009 Karate World Cup.
The couple has two children, Klara (2017) and Laura (2020).
In October 2017, Lewandowski graduated from the Warsaw School of Sport Education with a Bachelor of Physical Education.
